Smooth by Blush

Put your trust in Blush with our laser hair removal memberships. With over 7 years of experience, we have proudly performed hundreds of successful treatments. Our expertise speaks for itself.

How does it work?

At Blush, our Laser hair removal treatment, powered by a diode laser, utilises a gentle yet effective process. The laser beam passes through the targeted area, specifically targeting the hair shaft and follicle's pigment. As a result, heat is generated, which not only loosens the hair but also disrupts the cells responsible for hair growth, preventing future hair formation.

If you desire a hair removal method that avoids the mess and pain associated with waxing or electrolysis, look no further! Laser hair removal treatments at Blush offer a safe, swift, and convenient solution. Compared to traditional hair removal methods, they are less painful, longer-lasting, and provide a superior experience. Say goodbye to the hassles and hello to the benefits of laser hair removal.

"If you are thinking about having laser treatments I can’t recommend Blush Beauty Clinic enough!! I was pondering the idea for ages. Sick of my dark hair in places and constantly having to shave. I was clearly talked through the process with  Natalie. I was nervous about the pain, (but it was nothing) she made it a positive and comfortable experience. It is so quick and the results are AMAZING! 100% recommend!"

"I’ve been receiving laser hair removal on my legs for the last six months at Blush with Amy, and I absolutely love my results! I used to have to shave all the time and now I can barely see any hair now. I love it because I don’t have to worry if my legs are out and plus its saves so much time! I found the consult and experience very professional and comfortable. Great atmosphere would highly recommend."

Frequently Asked Questions

How does laser hair removal work?

Laser systems work on the same basis as lasers in that light energy is absorbed into particular target cells with colour in the skin. The light is converted to heat energy, which causes damage to the targeted cells.

How long does laser hair removal last?

The duration of laser hair removal results varies for each individual. While some people may start noticing a difference even after the first session, it typically takes multiple treatments to achieve desired outcomes. Laser hair removal is known for providing long-lasting results and is considered a permanent hair reduction treatment. Unlike temporary methods such as waxing or shaving that only offer short-term effects, laser treatment targets the hair follicles to inhibit and reduce future hair growth. By treating the hair at its root, laser hair removal offers a prolonged solution for smoother, hair-free skin.

Is there any downtime from the treatment?

You may experience slight redness and sensitised skin around the targeted areas. This usually only lasts a couple of hours. You can return to work the same day and resume most activities. The skin must be kept protected from the sun for 6 weeks after treatment and homecare products will be prescribed by your therapist. It is recommended to avoid hot showers and heavy workouts for 24 hours post-treatment.

How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?

For optimal outcomes, we suggest undergoing a minimum of 10 laser hair removal sessions, with each treatment spaced approximately 5-6 weeks apart. While you may start observing noticeable changes after your second or third session, it's essential to understand that complete eradication of unwanted hair is not achievable due to the natural characteristics of the human body.

In certain instances, we can eliminate up to 90% of the targeted hair, and on average, individuals can expect a removal rate of at least 80%. However, these percentages may vary based on factors such as age, hair type, hormone levels, existing medical conditions, and other individual considerations. We highly recommend engaging in a complimentary consultation with our knowledgeable team at Blush Beauty Clinic to discuss your specific goals and desired results. Together, we can create a personalised treatment plan that aligns with your expectations.

Pre-treatment advice

  • Shave or trim. If you're having laser treatments: Trim 1-2 days before your treatment.

  • No wax. Do not pluck or wax between your laser hair removal treatments as this will disrupt the hair growth cycle and you may not receive the best results from your treatment.

  • Avoid direct sunlight. Remember to stay out of the sun and avoid tanning and fake tanning products before your treatment as it can impact the efficacy of your treatment, and may mean you need to reschedule your treatment.

Post treatment care

Treated skin may be pink or red following your treatment - it may feel like mild sunburn or windburn, this is normal. The redness may last up to 24 hours. If required, you can apply a cold compress, cold gel pack, or a soothing gel until symptoms subside. Treated areas may be temperature sensitive. Hot or humid weather conditions can aggravate the skin. Cool showers or baths may offer relief.

Things to avoid after laser hair removal treatments (there's a few!). Immediately after treatment, the treated area will be a bit more sensitive.
We recommend avoiding the following:

  • Makeup (we recommend mineral makeup only)

  • Perfumed or fragranced products

  • Deodorant and bleaching cream having

  • Swimming, hot tubs and excessive exercise until the pinkness of the skin subsides.

  • In short, it’s best to avoid all possible skin irritants or active products in the treatment area for 2 weeks before your next treatment.

  • Do not pick or scratch the treated area as this may result in discolouration or damage.

  • Keep the treated area clean and dry and avoid rubbing the treated area with exfoliating products, peels, brushes, loofah sponges and course face cloths until the treated skin has returned to normal. Tight-fitting clothing may also cause friction to the treated area.

  • Keep the treated area clean and dry; avoid rough sports and tight clothing. Skip exercise until the day after your treatment.

  • It is rare but possible that a graze, burn or blister may appear following treatment.

  • Avoid exposing the treated area to the sun, sunbeds or self-tanning treatments, and protect treated skin with clothing and sunblock SPF 30+ between treatments.

  • Always apply an SPF sunscreen daily (one that is separate from your moisturiser or makeup).
